Today we're going to talk about some basic math vocabulary. This vocabulary is very simple but can come in handy if you're going to study abroad or if you just want to learn more English.

The first set of words were going to talk about areoperations.

The most commonoperations are addition, subtraction,

multiplication and division,and thoseare what we'll talk about today.

Additionis when you add two numbers together. This is called a plus sign. So forexample,4 plus 5 equals 9 or if I have 4and add 5 I get 9.

Subtraction is whenyou subtract one number from anothernumber. This is called a minus sign. Sofor example 6 minus 4 equals 2 or if Ihave 6 and take away 4 I get 2.

Multiplication is when you multiply onenumber by another number. For example 4times 3 equals 12 or

if I multiply 4 by 3 I get 12.

Divisionis when you divide one number by another

number. For example 12 divided by 2equals 6or if I divide 12 by 2 I get 6.
